Fractured Wishes Sunny

Aka Pokemon Villain Basil AU

Sunny is a teen who has a very defined moral compass. He's a rich kid who put off his journey due to not being confident about caring for himself or any magical creatures he may be traveling with.

Meeting Aubrey is what managed to convince him that a pokemon journey would be beneficial.

Sunny has three Pokemon!

Indeedee

He started his journey with his 'partner' Indeedee. He grew up with the Indeedee taking care of him, and the lil guy also reminds him to take care of himself.

The Indeedee is a male that has the nickname Bess.

Bess is not a battling pokemon and cannot hold his own in a fight. He is purely present to take care of Sunny and lessen his anxieties.

Gothita

Gothita is the first pokemon that Sunny actually caught. This Gothita is a female named Lotte (lot-tay) and she seems to have a hard time evolving.

Lotte is quite clingy to Sunny, and her favorite thing to do is sit with Sunny and take in scenery.

Plot wise, the reason she struggles to evolve is because this line of pokemon tends to have the ability to see the future. I'm trying to cover up any potential plot holes by making sure she isn't evolved to her last stage until after the truth that Basil is a villain is revealed.

Larvesta

Larvesta is the second pokemon Sunny managed to catch and befriend! The one he's gotten is a male named Lux.

Lux is a shy pokemon that loves to battle.

I currently don't have a lot of notes on Lux, but I do like drawing Lux and Sunny together. Mainly because I can give them some sort of sun symbolism in the doodles.

Notes on Sunny:

Sunny's character is supposed to be similar to the generic pokemon game 'hero'. He stumbles upon an evil group doing bad things and makes that his own personal issue for the foreseeable future. In the story he is actively trying to track down the evil pokemon team and stop them.

Sunny has a massive grudge against Commander Sunflower(Basil in an evil guy disguise) specifically out of the entire evil team. Meeting Commander Sunflower is what introduced Sunny to the evil team, and the commander absolutely decimated Sunny and Aubrey's attempts to stand up to them. Man pulled out fully evolved level 50s against pokemon around level 15-20 and the heroes took it personally.

Yet, Sunny's character in this au is being one of the antagonists. Because Basil is the protagonist of the au, we are supposed to see the au through his eyes and feel sympathy for him as a character. Sunny actively stands against Basil and his goals. I wanted Sunny and Basil's dynamic to be somewhat of a commentary that a protagonist does not necessarily mean a good person. Sunny is a good person. Basil is a person who has done many bad things for something he truthfully believes in, but he doesn't think he is necessarily a villain. He perceives Sunny as his enemy for standing in his way.

Sunny and Mari have about a 6-8 year age gap. He got his Indeedee as a gift from her Galar journey. She's in Sinnoh with Hero when the au takes place.

Sunny had moved from Johto to Unova when he turned 10. The story starts in Unova and he only really leaves because he met Aubrey.

All of Sunny's pokemon are in Luxury Balls.

As Different As...: The story of two people who had nothing in common finding out they have god-like powers and having to work with each other to keep the balance of the world in check.

Mutiny Collectables: The story of a band of pirates searching for rare items that correspond to their special interests.

The Bridge: A mad scientist and his lover keep popping in at the right moments. They know more than they let on. Who are they? Why are they here?

Sideline is more of a concept/for fun project of mine- so updates on their stories will be sporadic and most likely will be in different media formats! The one thing to remember with it though: it is always in chronological order.

Jack (he/him) is a lyricist, bass player, vocalist, stage fight choreographer, music TA/intern at the local middle school, and student. He is the best friend of my main character, Puck, and the roommate with his bands drummer, Ozzie, and boyfriend to their bands agent, Coco.

He believes in the weirdness happening in the town and is fully on board with investigating along with Puck, but at some point they fall too deep down a rabbithole. Jack is scared that it may even put their life in jeopardy, but we don't really know for sure until later on.

INTRO.

Recently, you've been saving up primogems for an upcoming new character banner that Hoyoverse is planning to release in the next version of the game.

Gosh you were so excited!

It's not like you wanted to pull for the character just because she was attractive. Definitely not.

Even if it takes a lot of time to earn those gems, you were willing to go through it as long as the system better give you that character you are pulling for.

"I can't wait to pull for Navia!"

You squealed in excitement, logging in the game as her banner awaits for you, ignorant of a certain chatacter just eavesdropping around the system.

XIAO.

Xiao's banner was having a rerun along with the release of Navia's, and while he may not brag it out loud, he had some silent expectations that you were going to pull for him again.

After all, he is proud to be your first five star chatacter, and ever since then he has been on your team and never removed.

To hear you say that you're going to pull for Navia instead of him made him grunt quietly as he let out a quiet huff behind the screen.

"...Well, she is a good character" he admitted while grumbling under his breath, crossing his arms by now as he watched you pull and pull for Navia's banner, only getting the four stars but no sign of a five star yet.

Is he...sulking? oh yes, Xiao believes so as there was a tiny slight pout on his as he looked away, trying his best to not be affected by the fact that Navia might show up at your screen anytime now.

So while you're at it, better save some primos to pull for his rerun banner too, you wouldn't want a sulking Xiao, right?

ITTO.

After pulling a few strings and fails in the wishing system, Itto was celebrating his victory after ensuring that his banner would have a rerun.

However, that satisfaction immediately crumbled down the moment he heard you saying that you are pulling for Navia instead for him again.

What makes it even worse, is he felt confident that you were going to pick him, and now...he doesn't know if he should throw a tantrum about it or blame the system that he had a rerun the same time with a new character.

"What?! Hey, what about me?" He yelled out from behind the screen, which of course you couldn't hear, as Itto let out a dramatic gasp by the revelation.

Is he making this a big deal? Yes, Itto is making this a big deal, because after all Navia is also a geo character, of course he would somehow feel intimidated that she would take his place in your team.

Best believe that when you are finish with your pulls, don't be surprised that he would not budge leaving your team— trying to replace him with Navia, even if you are already clicking the remove button!

DOTTORE.

The doctor was confident that you were saving up those primogems for him considering that his banner hasn't been released yet, nor the gaming system haven't made any announcement about his builds, constellation, marketing drip, etc.

Imagine his reaction when he overheard that you were pulling for Navia, and those primogems for her and not his. He could not hide the disbelief that crossed over his face.

He'll recover shortly after, and just laughed it off strainly as we watched you spending every gem you had saved on Navia's banner, no sign of the blondie woman yet showing up on your screen.

"And here, I thought I was what you are waiting for" He mumbled under his breath, gritting his teeth slightly in the process, keeping a forced smile on his face.

He would rather die than admit it, but this revelation had left a big wound on his pride, and he is a millisecond away of just straight up disrupting the system's controls if it means you get to play him.

Of course that would take some time, but he hopes that you're just as amused as him if he keeps joining you on doing your quests out of nowhere that doesn't even involve him in the first place ;)

VENTI.

It took so long for Venti to finally have this moment again, and he was more than glad to show up on your screen, on your first pull, on his rerun banner.

One second he was smiling and all giddy, but as you dropped the statement that you are pulling for Navia like a bomb, his smile freezed, his whole body freezed as he sweatdropped.

Not just freezed, you know those kind of special effects in an anime series when a character messes something up, does something awkward or expected something but gets embarass instead, and suddenly they turn into a whole block of ice? Yeah, something like that.

"..Oh, right her! I've heard a lot about her!" He stated, trying to keep up with his cheerful-go-to persona, as Venti awkwardly scratched the side of his neck while watching you spend those gems on her banner, still no luck of the five star geo character.

He failed to continue showing jolly facade, because now he is sulking at the corner as if it is the end of the world, almost as if a big tub of water was dunk upon him.

Please forgive him if he'll be out of character and maybe acting a little petty on your end for the next few hours or days while playing the game. It's not his fault you didn't also pulled on his rerun!

SCARAMOUCHE/WANDERER.

Scaramouche carries himself with such confidence and prides himself being a part of your team after you pulled on his first banner.

He was smirking with boldness, and eyes closed in satisfaction as he awaits and is all ready for you to pull on his rerun this time. That is until his mouth twitched downward, as he opens his eyes in suspicion right after he heard that you were pulling instead for Navia.

He could not hide the displeased expression painted on his face, as he continues to watch you behind the screen, spend all the primogems you saved up only for her, and like an open book— he doesn't even realized that he is scowling. So far, you're only getting the four stars.

"What about me?" He mumbled under his breath, as he scoffed lightly and by now instead of continuing to frown, there was a slight pout forming on his lips, as he huffed and turned his head away, facing a corner refusing to watch further your pulls on the geo character.

He rejects to believe that he is mopping about as something as this, but his actions says otherwise. He doesn't even know why is so affected by this.

Whether you get Navia or not, make sure you also give him the attention he seeks! We wouldn't want a petty Wanderer disrupting your team's gameplay, no?

Tips for writing and drawing disabled characters: you're allowed to have fun with it

I get a lot of people responding to my posts/videos on writing and drawing disabled characters that, while they never outright say it, kind of imply to me that people are interpreting those posts as:

THIS IS THE OBJECTIVE ONE AND ONLY WAY TO WRITE CHATACTERS WITH [Insert disability here] AND IF YOU DONT INCLUDE EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE POINTS AND SUGGESTIONS IN SOME CAPACITY, YOUR CHARACTERS ARE BAD AND YOU ARE BAD FOR MAKING THEM!

And just ....no that's not my intent lol. So let me make it abundantly clear: with a few exceptions, my content is just suggestions, mainly aimed at making your characters feel more realistic and/or grounded, or demonstrating certain ideas. If thats not the vibe you want, or the suggestions are clashing with the tone of your work, you don't have to include them. Still consider the advice, make sure the reason you think it doesn't match isn't based on stereotypes or assumptions, and if it's not, and you still don't think it fits, don't include it.

If it doesn't make sense to include a chapter about how your character is struggling with debilitating phantom pain in an otherwise really light-hearted, cozy slice of life comedy, then don't add it. This isn't to say that your character's disability shouldn't have any effect, but pick ways that fit the tone. For example, instead of dealing with debilitating pain, maybe your chatacter is out camping, they take off their leg to relax but oh no, a stray dog mistakes the metal pole for a bone and steals it, making your chatacter have to hop after them. When they catch them and get their leg back, they decide to adopt them! Hjinks and cozyness ensues

Or just small things, the same way you might show an able bodied chatacter getting ready for their day, show a disabled chatacter doing the same, but adding in the extra steps. Do what works with the tone.

This also isn't to say the advice can't be used in more fantastical settings. Most of what I write is fantasy and sci-fi, and while I don't use all of my own advice in those settings (because not all of it is relevent) I do use a lot of it, depending on the character in question. The main character in my sci-fi comic voidstar, Xari, for example, has been a double leg amputee for a long time and that, combined with the setting means not all of the standard advice about writing amputees is relevent to them. They don't struggle with pain or have trouble adjusting to prosthetics because it happened a long time ago and the medicine/tech in their world is better, but there's other ways it effects their daily life in ways fitting for the lighter tone in chapter 1. the intro sequence shows them running and jumping and being active, but also shows they use a wheelchair sometimes and a bit later in the chapter, crutches, depending on what they're doing. It also effects how they interact with people: late in the chapter someone makes a weird comment about their legs, and Xari uses it as a chance to mess with them and have some fun.

All this is to say don't be afraid to be a bit looser with the advice if the story you're writing has a lighter tone and just have fun. My content is there for those who want to use it, but it's not the "only objective way" to handle those subjects.

I am a 17 year old trans guy. You can call me Bug, Firebug, or Fig. I am just now getting into FPE thanks to my boyfriend introducing me to it. Elowen is a 17 year old, AMAB genderfluid person. They mainly use they / he pronouns, so expect me to switch between those two pronouns! hello, my name is zane! i'm nonbinary, use he/him and i'm a 19 year old college student on the US east coast, though i hail from california.

Well, I recently watched episodes 1-3 of Madoka Magica so here are my thoughts on the series. From episodes 1-3 I mean.

There's gonna be spoilers, by the way.

My thoughts on Madoka Magica: Episodes 1-3!

Episode 1

So, right from the get-go, I am absolutely in love with the setting design of this series. Madoka, the protagonist, runs through checkerboard corridors and Escheresque halls in the dream sequence that kicks off the show, and it's absolutely gorgeous.

Okay, that's not actually God, or even an Angel, but something called a Witch, which I'll get to later. (heheh, witch which)

Anyways, after that whole kerfuffle she wakes up and brushes her teeth, boring life stuff, we're introduced to her friends Sayaka and who the fuck cares, yada yada. And then, this bitch (named Homura) shows up.

Holy fuck I hate this bitch. She is so mean and rude and condescending and emotionless as she does it. She feels like a caricature of autistic people. She either needs to show some actual fucking humanity and stop being a cold-hearted cunt, or just fuck off and get killed. Mind you, I've only seen up to Episode 3. So, she might get better, and I have no idea if she does. Anyways, she lowkey threatens Madoka, time passes, and then kind of just straight up tries to kill a main character (Kyubey, this weird cat thing). Now, this is where the fun begins.

The four main characters at this point- Madoka, Sayaka, Kyubey, and Homura- Are all pulled into this thing called a "Labyrinth." Labyrinths are pocket-dimensions created by entities called "Witches" as a way to keep themselves safe and protected from the outside world while they do their... Witch things. Whatever those are. Sending people "kys" over Discord dms or something, I don't know. Either way, they look fantastic.

Putting these traditionally animated chatacters within this photorealistic hellscape just really conveys how completely alien the Witches are, so much so that they and their domains appear as if on a completely different level of reality.

This is the witch of what I'm calling the Butterfly Gardens Labyrinth, because... Those are the main motifs of the Labyrinth. Her name is Gertude, by the way.

Anyways, this girl named Mami shows up and shoots everything with her magic shotguns, the Witch escapes, and Mami asks Madoka and Sayaka to become Magical Girls like her. Well, Kyubey does the asking, but whatever.

Episode 2

Blah blah blah boring exposition. Shit barely happens. We find out that witches drop loot when they die, called "Grief Seeds". Which is pretty cool actually. It's explained that a girl becomes a Magical Girl when they make a contract with Kyubey and create a soul gem or whatever. Creating the aforementioned contract also means that you get a WISH. Like, ANY WISH. NO RULES. AT ALL. Which pisses me off because these idiots could wish for

1. The extinction of all Witches. 2. More wishes. 3. The power to warp reality in whatever way they want.

And Kyubey could theoretically grant them!!! What the fuck!!!!! They also say that "Witches are born from curses like Magical Girls are born from wishes", whatever the fuck that means. Are they implying that witches are just... Cursed humans? Like, they are the victims of a curse? And you're just killing them without mercy? Instead of trying to rehabilitate them?? What the fuck is wrong with these motherfuckers. Seriously.

Also, it feels like a good time to mention that I don't trust this fucker at all.

Also, WHERE THE FUCK ARE ALL THE MAGICAL BOYS??? PUT SOME DUDES ON THE TEAM YOU WEIRD CAT. THIS JUST SEEMS FETISHY IF THERE ARE JUST LITTLE GIRLS WORKING FOR YOU. NOT A GOOD LOOK.

Side-Tangent: Intro

As if I wasn't already on a side-tangent complaining about the yet-unexplained holes in the worldbuilding and how much I despise Kyubey, I'm just gonna take a moment to talk really quick about the intro.

Oooh, a hospital-based Labyrinth!! This looks so cool!

You know, now that I think about it, Mami is actually a pretty fun character, and I like her a lot! She has some depth to her that wasn't visible before, but now I'm able to really appreciate it!

Heck, even her vicious slaughter of innocent inhabitants of the Witches Labyrinths is kind of cool now!
